The NOTRE project was funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 692058. It was a 36-month project, running from January 2016 to December 2018. The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) was the scientific coordinator role, bringing together the SCRC team with four esteemed European centers of excellence: FORTH-ICS (Greece), iMdea (Spain), MIRALab (Switzerland), and the University of Dusseldorf (Germany), each contributing their expertise and strengthening the NOTRE project’s objectives. The project aimed to bolster the potential and research capability of the SCRC team in Cyprus. Through intensive training sessions and collaborative endeavors, the project led to cultivating a community of skilled researchers with a solid foundation in computing research and interdisciplinary understanding. The fusion of computing expertise with insights from social sciences has enabled the SCRC team to deliver the full benefits of Social Computing and contribute to scientific excellence and innovation in Cyprus, pursuing further funding and being established as the Social Computing Research Centre.
