Successful Erasmus+ Project “Feel the FemPower Limassol” Multiplier Event

The “Feel the FemPower Limassol” event successfully brought together academia and industry experts to discuss and address gender inequalities in the sector of Clean Energy Transition. The event took place on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 online.

The “Feel the FemPower Limassol” event, organized by the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), focused on addressing gender inequalities in the Clean Energy Technology (CET) sector. The event started with a welcome by Professor Panayiotis Zaphiris, rector of CUT, and an overview of the FemPower project by coordinators from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Keynote speaker Natasa Pilides, former Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry of Cyprus, discussed gender inequalities in CET, followed by a Q&A session.

A roundtable discussion with experts, including Olympia Nisiforou, Assistant Professor at the CUT, Georgios Andreou, Assistant Professor at AUTH and Eugenia Herodotou, CEO of the EnergyIntel Cyprus brought forward personal experiences and strategies for promoting diversity and inclusivity in the sector.

Project partners presented various outputs, including a mapping and comparison of the current gender equality situation, a gender analysis of CET, a MOOC on gender equality, and a gender-inclusive toolkit using a STEAM approach. The event also introduced the FemPower Network and tools and strategies developed within FemPower.
